California Coast
Read MoreLuck played a huge role in getting this image. Though I have visited the Point Reyes cypress tunnel a number of times, many were during childhood. I knew the conditions necessary for getting this shot and for years I had imagined I'd be there to take it. On this morning, it was not looking entirely promising. The morning fog wasn't as low as I'd hoped and it did appear as if the skies were opening up. However I only had one night in the area and I was intent on at least giving it a try. Determination paid off and only about 30 minutes or so after the sunrise, the fog was thick and the light was just strong enough to light it up. This has to be one of my most dramatic images involving strong light.

McWay
McWay Falls is a popular pit stop destination driving along California's famous highway 1. I never had the opportunity or timing to photograph the scenic waterfall during sunst, but finally managed on a road trip from Monterey to Los Angeles.

The Lone Cypress
I have spent a good amount of my life in the Monterey Peninsula, including a year in High School and frequent trips back since. The area holds many special memories for me and is incredibly beautiful. I captured this long exposure of 17-Mile Drive's iconc "Lone Cypress" during a beautiful sunset.
Manifest
The result of a cold two hours, barefoot in the water in Northern California's Garrapata State Park. I was lucky that I was less impatient on this day, because there didn't seem to be any hope for good light. I stayed however, and got to witness and incredible display of changing color and light. I managed to come away with two beautiful images that captured the essence of being alone on one of Califonia's most beautiful shorelines.
