I managed to catch a lucky overcast day at Lago Grey in Torres del Paine National Park during the Fall. The even, subtle light provided by the cloud coverage reveals the color of the glacial particles and ice beautifully. While this image captures the detail of the giant shards of ice, it is hard to tell that these towers are one-hundred feet tall in some sections, not counting the depth unerneath the water. It is otherworldly to visit a site like this. Luckily this image, like the glacier itself, is massive. This limited print can be printed at sizes exceeding ninety inches in width. It is named "Los Fragmentos" which translates from Spanish to "Fragments" or "Shards."

Open Heart
There are so many tones, colors and compositions within the various slot canyons of Northern Arizona. This particular image was taken in Rattlesnake Canyon - one of the little cousins of Antelope Canyon. Although much smaller in size than Antelope Canyon, Rattlesnake is much less crowded. The narrower slots present unique perspectives for photography and require getting into some pretty interesting positions with your camera. If you get the light and composition just right, you can capture amazing hues of blues, purples and reds in addition to the beautiful oranges that fill these geological phenomena. I particularly enjoy the symmetry in this scene. When rotated in either direction, “Open Heart” is still intriguing and unique and is surely a compliment to an interior space.
