High up in the Glacier Point region of Yosemite National Park you will find some of the best, most iconic views in all of California. Every time I return, it feels just as amazing as the first - literally a view into paradise. This area, being some 7,200 feet high in altitude and 3,000 feet above Yosemite valley, provides visitors with sweeping views of Yosemite Falls, Half Dome and the Yosemite high country. Words cannot describe the beauty, nor can any picture but one must try nonetheless. Timing was essential in capturing this image, as I waited for the sun to illuminate the walls of the crown jewel of Yosemite: Half Dome. During the golden hour before sunset, the giant rock is lit up and adds a unique character to the image. Northern California wildfires were in full effect when this shot was captured, hence the hazy quality of the clouds and sky.
